CONTINUED FROM ABOVE Ozone is effective at eliminating chloramines in pool water that when left uncontrolled, 1) will significantly reduce the ability of the pool water to protect itself against human pathogens; 2) contribute to structural/equipment corrosion; and 3) potentially exacerbate “swimmer’s asthma”. Ozone, when used in conjunction with chlorine as dual-disinfection, provides broad spectrum antimicrobial action as well as further oxidation of organic waste left behind by swimmers, simultaneously reducing chloramines to near zero; leaving behind FAC for continuous in-pool swimmer protection from pathogens.
